As a historic Christian and Reformed church, we trace our heritage from the apostles down through the great Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. The true Christian Church has always stated clearly what it believed the Bible to teach. It did so through creeds and confessions. Creeds such as the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian date back to the first centuries after Christ's ascension and are especially devoted to stating the biblical doctrine of the Trinity, God is one God, subsisting in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We, along with other Christian churches receive these creeds as our official church standards. As a church we believe these creeds and confessions to faithfully summarize "the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints"(Jude 3). |
